September 16 – 26, 1965 (41 years ago): Daimler-Benz presents the new luxury class, which includes the 250 S, 250 SE, 300 SE (W 108) und 300 SEL (W 109) models.

September 20, 1900 (106 years ago): The honeycomb radiator is introduced. It is a major technological advance that allows for boosting engine output.

It is interesting to note that AMG will soon reach the physical maximum for power output, which is around 650-700 hp. The problem isn’t building an engine with more horsepower, the issue is cooling. There’s no room in the vehicle for all of the radiators required to displace the heat. Today’s S65 AMG has 612 horsepower.
