I have a 2006 SLK350 I have just got rebuilt. The car was hit in the rear. I had a rear clip from SLK55 installed on it. The garage who installed the clip did a very good job except for some minor adjustments. I live in the Clearwater, Florida area and would like to see if you can suggest another garage I can take the vehicle to have these minor adjustment done

I am in need of an SLK350 expert. I am in the middle of a very interesting adn high profile conversion of a SLK350 to electric power. When done, this car will out perform the original by at least 1.5 seconds to 60. I have a car on our floor and another bunch of new ones ready to go (engines stripped).

I found a list of technical bulletins from All Data and they are listed in the main SLK350 page above. I don’t see anything concerning your tire issue.

If the Goodyear dealership has a notification concerning the issue, please post a copy of it for our readers. Thanks!

Has MBUSA been aware of problems occurring with the wheel systems of this model (SLK350, 2003)?

I was made aware of problem that the wheel may be defective in being able to withstand impacts that have resulted in tire damage. I recently had to have my tires replaced due to side wall damage to my SLK 350 and the Goodyear dealership indicated that a notification from there home office had been disseminated indicating a structural defect in the wheel that resulted in inordinate amount of critical side wall tire damage from road impacts.

It was necessary to replace my tires with only 18,000 miles due to this problem. I would appreciate your comments on this. The high performance tires with different sizes on front and rear wheels required replacement of all 4 tires.

If there is a defect in the basic structure other owners should be aware of the problem to avoid injury and vehicle damage, as well as additional cost for premature tire replacement.
